Blog # 1701
Day 1704 ( That's One Thousand Seven Hundred and Four Days ) Since the Start of the Current ( Second ) Russian Invasion of UKRAINE .
Glory To UKRAINE
Before I get to a few cards, I just want to finish up where I left off my last blog. The results are in and Alberta stays in Canada and I remain a Canadian in Alberta.
The Remain in Canada side voted 76% to stay Canadian while the separatists voted 24% in a losing battle to leave.
If you could see me now, you would see a smiling Glenn.
Enough of politics !
My first card today is a Postcrossing card from Osaka, Japan. It captures a tender, family moment.
A Postcrosser called Kotoko is the sender of this card. She used 3 wonderful stamps. The left stamp was issued in 1987, 1 of 2 in a lovely set issued for Philatelic Week. The right stamp , issued in 1964, is from a set of 5 issued for the 1964 Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo. The middle stamp I was not able to identify
My second card is from Canada. It`s a World Postcard Day card from 2024, in an illustration by Rose Wong. Deshanta sent this card and it`s her second card to me. Her first card was sent in August. Deshanta wrote that Autumn is one of her favourite seasons since moving to Canada. She also wrote that she is looking forward to hearing from me. Therein lies my conundrum . I can`t reach out to you since I don`t know you, I don`t know where you live or how to get in touch with you. I would love to reach out and personally thank you for your cards and thank you for reading my blog. Now I look forward to hearing from you Deshanta. Please, either leave a comment here on my blog or contact me at glennemoores(at)gmail.com
I will be more than happy to send you a card and say hi.
This card arrived with a 2024 stamp from a set of 3 issued for Truth & Reconcillation.
Now here`s the last card for this time. It arrived from France. With Halloween fast approaching I felt this card might fit in even though it is not Halloween themed. It is kind of ominous and spooky. It shows a painting by realistic and visionary painter Bruno Altmayer.
Dominique used a 2014 stamp issued for the Philatelic Salon held in Clermont-Ferrand.
There you have it, the latest update of the blog. Thanks go out today to Kotoko, Deshanta and Dominique.
