Wednesday Again, What Can I Say ?

That's right, Wednesday - I never meant for it to be a week and then some since my last update. I don't know where the time goes, but it goes . Maybe it's time for a longer day . Maybe then people like me could get it all done.
When someone out there gets time figured out, let me know.

Now it's TIME for postcards. First up is a card from Sri Lanka. A new addition to my Airlines / Aircraft Collection. It's a British Caledonian  Douglas DC-10-30 on the ramp at some London airport. British Caledonian  was a private British airline operating out of Gatwick Airport in the 1970s and 1980s. Its fleet consisted of Airbus A310s , Bac One-Elevens, B707 and 747s, DC-10s , Vickers VC-10s and Vickers Viscounts. Following substantial losses British Caledonian was taken over by British Airways in December 1987.

AS mentioned earlier, this card arrived from Sri Lanka. Ravindra used 2 definitive stamps from a set of 16 issued in 2012.

He and I have swapped a number of cards in the past, but I think that maybe I have not held up my end quite as much as he has. I'll strive to do a little better. His blogs "Lighthouses on Post Cards " and " Discover the World on Trains " can be found here and here .
Be sure to give them a look see.

My next two cards are from my brother Dale's recent trip a month or so  ago. Here's his card from Petra , Jordan. Petra is a historical and archaeological city in southern Jordan. It is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Petra was established possibly as early as 312 BC and is today Jordan's most visited tourist site. It is believed that Petra once was home to around 30,000 people and was abandoned in 106 A.D. Petra was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site lost in 1985.

Dale used 2 definitives on this card. The one on the left was issued in 2003 and the other in 1996.

This post was really supposed to be much longer , showing a number of other cards, but that's not happening. I have to close this one earlier than expected. Thanks to Ravindra and Dale for today's cards. Take care.
