Singapore's Clarke Quay, Marseille and Cheese, Ella Nine Arch Bridge

Blog # 1647 --- Day 1167 ( That's One Thousand One Hundred and Sixty Seven Days ) Since the Start of the Current ( Second ) Russian Invasion of UKRAINE .

                                                                GLORY TO UKRAINE

Well it's been a few days, a lot of days in fact since I have put up a blog. I had a lot of trouble, technical issues with my blog. I just couldn't get anything to go right until today. So as they say in show business -- I'm back baby, I'm back.

My first card is from Singapore. It's a panoramic night view of Clarke Quay. The quay is a riverside quay situated upstream from the mouth of the Singapore River and Boat Quay.

Ravindra used 2 copies of a stamp issued in 2011. It is from a set of 5 issued for the 20th World Orchid Conference held in Singapore in 2011.

The next 3 cards are from France and all were sent by Dominique. The first one provides a nice view of Notre - Dame de la Grande , a Romanesque Byzantine styled Catholic church in Marseille. It was built between 1853 and 1897.

Dominique used a stamp from a 2003 set of 10 Cas stamp.

Card 2 of the 3 shows some of the soaps of Marseille. In 1924, there were 122 soapmaking companies in the Marseille, however as of 2023, there were only four remaining.

Here are 2 more of the Cars stamps from the 2003 set.

Card 3 of 3. This card shows La Place du General de Gaulle and la Tour des Chevaliers.  Both of which is seen on the card.

Here are 2 more of those Car stamps from 2003.

Here is the final card for today. It is from Sri Lanka , and no it was not sent by Ravindra. This one is from Alena from Slovakia. It's a great shot of the Ella Nine Arch Bridge which was built in 1919. It is 91 m long and 24 m high with 9 arches or spans.

Alena used 2 stamps on her card. On the left is an Endemic Butterfly stamp from a set of 12 issued in 2022. The other stamp , from 2025 honors Prof Sangeeth Nipun Sanath Nandasiri .
