Vieques, ANA, Santa and Little Sistine Chapel

Blog # 1637--- Day 1060 ( One Thousand and Sixty ) of the Current  ( Second ) Russian Invasion of                                                                                       Ukraine

                                                                      GLORY TO UKRAINE

Here I am again with a few recent cards . I will start with a card from a place I had not ever heard of before.
Vieques , Puerto Rico. Vieques is a Caribbean island off Puerto Rico's eastern coast. It's known for boat tours of Bioluminescent Bay (or Mosquito Bay), where microorganisms give the water a blue-green glow. It also offers secluded beaches and snorkeling , Matthew's card shows us Playa Negra, or Black Sand Beach.

Matthew used a couple of U.S. stamps on his card. The left stamp was issued in 2021 and is 1 of 4 in a set showing Barns. These stamps are self-adhesive Postcard Rate stamps. The right stamp is a 2024 stamp celebrating American writer Saul Bellow.

This is my first card from Matthew. He wrote that he is a fan of my Blog. Well thank you Matthew and welcome. Stay tuned, I need all the readers I can get. If you are a postcard collector, let me know your address and I'll pop a nice card in the mail for you.

Here's today's second card. Here we see some of the interior of Saint-Martin church in Sillegny, Moselle,  France. The church is famous for its 16th century frescoes, which cover most of the interior walls. Because of the frescoes the church is nicknamed the Little Sistine Chapel of Lorraine.

Dominique used a 56 year old stamp showing a Van der Weyden painting of Philip the Good.

Next is a Christmas themed card from Greece, dated 2018.  The card says Santa is reading Children's letters. It kinda looks more like the list that he supposedly checks twice.

Anna sent this maxi-card with the 2018 Christmas stamp with the 2018 Christmas stamp. It is from a set of 4.

Last card for today. It arrived from Japan. A favourite theme of mine - Airlines and Airplanes. This time we have an All Nippon Airways B777-300, actually the first one in Japan. It was delivered to ANA back on August 28th , 1998. The photo was taken at Haneda in Nov of 1997. This aircraft was stored for 8 months in 2022 but is still in service with All Nippon today.

Jean Pierre used a definitive from 1962 on this card.

That does it for this time. Thanks for these cards go to Matthew, Dominique, Ana and Jean Pierre. Big thanks to all.
